Bondi Beach Public Bondi Beach Public School
Celebrating the iconic Bondi Beach and its community
100 Views in action!

A tram arrives some 50 years later.
Bondi Beach Public School was established in 1923. It is a small but very popular school in a cosmopolitan Sydney beach suburb, adjacent to the iconic Bondi Beach. The beach is a focal point for many learning activities in art, science and the environment, sport and for social activities. Our students are drawn from across the eastern suburbs of Sydney with the majority coming from the local area. A small number of students is newly arrived from overseas.
The school’s vision is that our school, with our community, works for a safe, supportive and educationally stimulating environment.
We believe in...
Providing quality educational programs leading to excellence in educational outcomes for all students;
Creating opportunities for all students to develop to their full potential;
Developing caring and socially responsible citizens who are aware of their choices and are skilled in decision making;
Fostering an appreciation of our unique location and its history; and
Fostering and environment of belonging.

100 Views at Bondi Beach Primary School
Bondi Beach Primary school chose Bondi Beach as our ICON. All staff undertook Libby Hathorn’s three Poetry Writing Workshops and 100 poems were chosen from classes K-6 for the Poetry Gallery. Our specialist art teacher worked with children on a collage artwork for the Art Exhibition and 100 works were chosen for the 100 Views Gallery. We worked towards a Festival and had a performance of the play The Tram to Bondi Beach at the Bondi Beach Pavilion with whole school participation. A media group was formed to interview local people about their memories of and attitudes to Bondi Beach. The video interviews have become an archive for the school.
